Control the card list
Use a unique identifier for every front, back and variant. The artwork list should match the pack matrix and the final approved file folder.
Plan for cutting variation
- Add appropriate bleed.
- Keep borders and frames visually tolerant of normal cutting variation.
- Keep essential text and symbols inside the safe area.
- Check front-to-back orientation.
Define color references
Identify critical shared colors and whether the review target is a physical proof, approved printed sample or another controlled reference. Finishing can change the perceived result.
Final pre-production check
Reconcile filenames, card count, backs, special variants, finish layers and pack logic before files are released to printing and collation.
Common RFQ mistake
Avoid asking the supplier to assume missing dimensions, materials, quantities or pack definitions. Separate confirmed requirements from questions that need engineering input.
