Direct answer: Piece count alone does not define a puzzle cutting specification; size, board, cut pattern, handling and packing also affect the finished result.

Confirm the physical specification

Record finished puzzle dimensions, board construction, piece count, intended piece size and any special shapes before selecting the production route.

Review cutting with the printed image

The cut pattern interacts with the artwork and the way the puzzle is assembled. Critical image elements and borders should be reviewed at final scale.

Plan piece handling

  • Method for separating or scattering pieces
  • Debris-removal expectation
  • Bag or inner-pack requirement
  • Reference image and inserts
  • Final component count

Define completeness checks

Agree how the manufacturer should review cutting quality and component completeness. If a specific sampling plan or acceptance rule applies, include it in the RFQ.

Common RFQ mistake

Avoid asking the supplier to assume missing dimensions, materials, quantities or pack definitions. Separate confirmed requirements from questions that need engineering input.
